De Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oroadras

Unofficial Hotel Lens

De Luxe Hotel is honestly just a smart pick if youre coming to Cagayan de Oroadras and dont want to waste time figuring out where everything is. City center, walking distance to food and transport, staff that actually help you - thats pretty much the deal here and it works. You come to CDO to do things, not to sit in a hotel lobby, and this place gets that. Price is fair, rooms are clean, done.

The guests are a good mix - local business folks, families from Manila, the occasional foreigner who found Cagayan de Oroadras on a map and is figuring it out as they go. That last type always ends up happy here because the staff are patient and genuinely helpful in a way that bigger hotels in the city just arent. thats worth something, specially when youre tired and a little lost and just need someone to point you in the right direction.

The Breakdown

  • +
Location is hard to beat - city center means tricycle rides everywhere are short and cheap, not 45 minute traffic nightmares.
  • +
Price is fair for what you get, newer hotels nearby charge more and dont necessarily deliver more for it.
  • +
Staff speak good english and actually try to help, not just point at a laminated map and wish you luck.
  • +
Rooms are clean when you check in, no unpleasant surprises waiting for you after a long flight!
  • +
Perfect jumping off point for Camiguin, rafting on the Cagayan River, Bukidnon day trips - all of it.
  • +
On-site restaurant means you dont have to wander around a strange city at 11pm looking for food.
  • -
Interiors are a bit dated, nothing offensive but dont expect anything instagrammable.
  • -
Breakfast gets repetitive after 2-3 days, better to explore the local spots on foot anyway.
  • -
Wifi slows down in the evenings when everyones on it at the same time.
  • -
Street noise from CDO comes in, and CDO is just a loud city, thats not the hotels fault really.
